Team EMW is short for Team East Meets West. The name is fitting as the group is a unique combination of far Left Coasters (located in El Cajon, CA) strategically aligned with some far Right Coasters (Holyoke, MA and New York, NY) for a racing experience never seen in the 40+ year history of SCORE International.

what is greasecar motorsports?

Greasecar Motorsports Team is a new, alternative fuel off-road racing venture. Greasecar Motorsports is out to prove that a diesel engine powered by pure vegetable oil can be a competitive force in off-road racing.

who are these guys?

Greasecar Motorsports is led by Tony Steingraber and Justin Carven.

Tony Steingraber lives in El Cajon, CA and is a veritable celebrity in the world of off-road racing. A racer since 1988, his off-road acumen has garnered appreciation and recognition from peers, competitors and race-organizers. Among his most notable accomplishments is winning the 2004 championship in class 5/1600 with Gnarly Racing. Tony’s West Coast crew includes John Castillo, Midori Connolly, Shaun Dunbar and Trevor Terra. Together they have fought for and won several championships in what is now the Mojave Desert Racing series at Superstition (formerly FUD).

Justin Carven lives in Holyoke, MA and is the founder and CEO of Greasecar Vegetable Fuel Systems. Greasecar is the nation’s largest manufacturer and distributor of conversion kits for diesel cars and trucks. Greasecar products enable diesel engines to run on pure vegetable oil. Greasecar kits are in more than 5,000 cars and trucks nationwide. Justin has been modifying diesel engines to run on vegetable oil for more than a decade.
